Matthew Broughton

I'm a freelance illustrator, graphic artist, and designer based in Melbourne. I work with clients throughout Australia and beyond from my Melbourne studio. My work has been published in books, printed on clothing, and used on packaging designs and other graphic design material. I'm not easily pigeonholed; some days I'm an illustrator, other days I might be working on a graphic design project, and on yet other days, I focus on my art. For me, it's all about visual storytelling, problem-solving, and transforming complex ideas into practical designs. My approach is to work collaboratively with my customers and clients. It's never a cookie-cutter approach to making you or your product look unique, authentic, and unforgettable. My goal is simple: to create designs and illustrations that inspire, engage, and entertain.

In addition to working on commercial projects, I make linocut prints as part of my artistic practice. Apart from accepting occasional commissions, I sell the majority of my linocut prints through several online galleries. To unwind, I enjoy coastal and bush walks, swimming, making music, and playing the bass guitar.
