Congratulations to Tara Hale for winning the People’s choice award for Brisbane - Tara wins a set of Madman DVDs.

Congratulations also to the People’s choice winners voted for in Melbourne. First Prize Anna Walker - ‘The Journey’ wins her Corel Painter 11. 2nd Prize: Angie Rehe - Yesterday’s News wins a set of 3 Madman DVD’s

Student winner Hayden Dewar (Bachelor of Illustration, NMIT) wins the New York SOI book - 51st Annual of American Illustration

Called the “9x5” in reference to an Australian Impressionists exhibition of the same name held in Melbourne in 1889, each work in this show has been created specifically for the exhibition’s theme of “Untold Stories”. All the artwork, by some of Australia’s top illustrators, is original using a 9 x 5 inch piece of wood as its base. Each piece is available for sale at a reserve price of $195 - if there is interest from multiple purchasers the piece will go to (silent) auction. All proceeds, minus a small commission to IA, go to the artist, so it is a great, affordable, way to support the arts and get a highly collectible piece for your wall.

Also, for the first time, the 9 x 5 travelled to Brisbane!

Thanks to Michael Weldon for the great image for this year’s show.
