Kathryn Skelsey

Kathryn Skelsey’s artwork investigates the intersections between art and medical science. Her primary media are watercolour painting and drawing, presented in the style of traditional medical illustration, however she also injects elements of other media; for example, photography, printing and digital imaging. Skelsey initially studied and pursued a career in Physiotherapy, eventually specialising in Orthopaedic, Paediatric and Endocrine Physiotherapy. Subsequently she completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the College of Fine Arts (UNSW), Sydney. Skelsey now works as a freelance Fine Artist, Medical and Children’s Book Illustrator and Muralist, while continuing her part-time Physiotherapy employment.
