Growing up in Wales, Ffranses was never allowed to go out without bringing back a story from the village. This led to one's eyes and ears being constantly open, and major embellishemnts added to complete the storytellig for retelling.
In her illustrations Ffranses shows the ordinary becoming extraordinary by embracing our adventurous, imaginative side, and leaving the mundane, prosaic aspects of life. Her favourite illustrator and inspiration is Joseph Wright, "What-aMess -- Frank MUir", where little dramas are played out passionately alngside the main action of the story.
Upon arrival in Australia Ffranses gained work as a storyteller for the NSW Eduaction Department and her stories have been screened and published in Australia and overseas. Studying a Diploma in Graphic Design and Illustration from Enmore Design Centre she is now furthering her passion for creating picture books. "Books are lifelong companions and lead us to extraordinary ways of being." Her first illustrated book, "The Man in the Pnama Hat and the Windy, Windy Day, has just been made a notable book in the Children's Book Council 2018 awards.
