Damian Castellini

Hello, I’m Damian (a.k.a. scruffy_hugo), a cartoonist living and working in Moreton Bay/Gubbi Gubbi Country, Queensland. My comic illustrations and script were recently published by Australian Geographic, producing a climate-awareness comic novel for kids, Pip & Pete's Antarctic Adventure. It's pretty nifty, you should check it out. Go on, I can wait.

I’ve designed logos and artwork for small businesses, created painterly videos for NY-based Concord Music, worked in local animation studios, licensed wildlife characters to Australian children’s educators, and regularly draw to advocate for wildlife and environmental causes. I tell stories through endearing characters informed by a background in animation, and my digital inks and watercolours are influenced by traditional practice. I also write little stories regularly, and have two children's books in the works. Modest, aren't I?
