Stuart McLachlan

Stuart McLachlan began his career as an illustrator in Adelaide. Since then his illustration has allowed him to live and work in Melbourne, Amsterdam, Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver and now Sydney. His illustrations have been published worldwide in such magazines as The Economist, The New Yorker and Newsweek.

Recently, I developed a new technique of paper styling using cut paper to create images and art objects for the fashion, art editorial and advertising areas. These hand made pieces have been used extensively on the fashion runway and have been published in Vogue, Karen magazine, on book covers, posters, editorial and commissioned art.The goal is to create a unique visual identity using paper and pushing the media into ever extending directions.
Clients include Singapore Airlines, Vogue, Colette Dinnigan,The French Film Festival Australia and MGM studios, Australia Post,Stella Artois,Cascade brewery.
