Nadia Rosenthal is a Sydney based Illustrator with a passion for detail. Her work could be described as detailed, considered renderings exploring flora, fauna, ethereal femininity and the metaphysical. Nadia completed an advanced diploma of Illustration at the Design Centre Enmore in 2018 and is available for commissions with a recent piece appearing in the Breaking Through exhibition at The Australian Museum of Democracy.
Drawing inspiration from the detailed and the delicate, her work often reflects imagery conjured by furry critters, ethereal muses, cautionary fairytales, psychedelic tunes and childhood memories of bedtimes stories where beautiful illustrations danced across the pages and into fantastical dreams.
Nadia’s work usually begins with a detailed graphite drawing which is sometimes coloured in Photoshop or a delicate watercolour base with coloured pencil and Copic markers employed to enhance the illustration. Textural elements are often applied to her work, adding depth and interest. She is happiest at her desk, peacefully enjoying the company of her work, especially when illustrating animals that make her want to reach out and pat them.
