Introducing the Speakers:
Dr Levent Efe, CMI - Medical illustrator  - Levent Efe received his medical degree in Istanbul, Turkey in 1982. After four years in General Practice, he taught Anatomy in the Marmara University Medical School in Istanbul, and Artistic Anatomy in the School of Fine Arts of the same university. He then undertook a fellowship in the Department of Art as Applied to Medicine, at Johns Hopkins Medical School, Baltimore, Maryland, in 1988. He has since been running an independent Medical illustration business in Melbourne, Australia. The beloved airbrush no longer hums in the studio, as all artwork is now rendered digitally in the trusty Macintosh. Levent Efe is a certified member of the Association of Medical Illustrators (USA), and active member of Illustrators Australia and Australian Cartoonists Association (ACA). Levent balances artistic appeal with anatomic accuracy for a wide ranging local and international clientele like medical publishers, product manufacturers, surgeons, and advertisers.

Angie Rehe - Fashion illustrator - Angie Réhe is a Melbourne based Fashion Illustrator with a background in the fashion industry as both designer and illustrator. 
After years of traveling the world and designing for some of Australia’s favourite fashion brands, Angie now mixes freelance design, commission work and illustration with lecturing in fashion illustration (in her own boutique-style classes and for RMIT University), reporting
on Melbourne inspirations for international website WGSN, creating art for greeting cards and stationery as well as working on her illustrated blog Patsyfox (www.patsyfox.com)
Clients include Penguin Books, Collection Magazine, The Age, Gorman, and the Bendigo Art Gallery.

Kate Nolan - Natural History illustrator - Worked as Scientific Illustrator for Museum of Victoria for then freelanced for various public and private employers, also a Fine Artist, with natural history leanings.

Dean Gorissen - Editorial, Publishing, Children’s book illustrator - Melbourne based, Illustrating professionally since 1993
Commercially, Dean works in a range of techniques and approaches, enabling him to provide a tailored approach for a variety of corporate, retail and packaging clients.
Among other awards, his work has appeared in Communication Arts Illustration Annual, The Australian and New Zealand Illustration Awards and the MADC. Additionally, Dean has produced character designs for major food and beverage brands, as well as adapting his own character designs for Penguin’s best-selling ‘Deadly’ books by Paul Jennings and Morris Gleitzman for the Deadly animated series.
His children’s book ‘I got a Rocket!’ written by Matt Zurbo and also published by Penguin, was short listed for the Crichton Award for Book Illustration and has also recently been produced as an animated television series with SLR productions and Taffy Entertainment. It airs on Network Ten Australia.

Jim Tsinganos - Editorial & Advertising illustrator - Sydney based Illustrator with over 25 years experience and works out of a studio in Surry Hills, NSW with 4 other wonderful and talented illustrators amongst other people and has had 2 working stints in Amsterdam. He is the recipient of numerous awards, both locally and internationally and is represented in the UK and the US. Working primarily with pastels and watercolour on paper until 3 and half years ago when he made the change to Photoshop.
He is interested in creating work with a strong conceptual basis. This together with his keen sense of light gives his work a unique and individual look that set it apart from the norm. “I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember. One of my earliest memories is of my dad sitting me down before our house guests and having me draw them. He was my first art director and that was my first assignment”.
