EXHIBITION HAPPENINGS!

Victoria

An exhibition featuring Australian and international illustrators opens next week in B Space Gallery at NMIT's Fairfield campus. The curator is Illustrators Australia committee member Stephen Pascoe, who has organised the exhibition as part of his Masters Research project at Monash University.

Invited illustrators have responded to the theme, Illustration in a Culture of Vulnerability.

Each artist has produced a visual in response to brief, and formulated a statement to accompany the visual. Analysis of the illustrative pieces and commentary will provide the platform for Stephen's research.

Artists featured in the exhibition/research project include:

Vince Agostino, Mandy Browne, Clinton Cahill, Matt Clare, Sue Coe, Eva Collado, Warren Crossett, Dabs & Myla, Kim Evans, Jeff Fisher, Dean Gorissen, Andrea Innocent, Benjamin Johnson, Max Maxfield, Paul McDermott, Stephen Pascoe, Jody Pratt, David Sandlin, Caroline Stirling, Anna Walker, Beck Wheeler

Opening is 6.00 pm, Thursday 29 July, B Space Gallery, NMIT Fairfield campus.

The show will be opened by culture commentator, curator and lawyer Laz Dobelsky. There will also be a musical performance of a piece written for trumpet and piano by the exemplary vulnerable artist, Dimitri Shostakovich, featuring acclaimed trumpeter (Black Arm Band) Eugene Ball.
